Nothing is sweeter to me
My baby's embrace
A sleepy evening dreamer
Baby suckling,
Soft light drifting through windows,
Morning breaks it's rest
When darkness spirals
Crashing; earthshaking sadness
Hug the ones you love
First snow graces us
With its kisses, warm hands
Find cold cheeks and smiles
Rains chase flakes away
Leaving behind a damp world
Snuggle with me please
As day breaks,
Find solace in what
Wakes within
Cometh to the hearth
The dawn will soon break, its frost
On the window; still
Warm your freezing hands
Your feet toasting by the fire
As your mama hums
Bacon on the fire
Fragrent - porridge in the pot
Crackle stoke the flame
Highchair clicks - and kicks
Morning berries and warm bread
Baby smiles and coos
Tonight will be long
My heart filled with love and doubt Forever anxious
Shoulder all burden
Lighten the family's load, I
Become rock, molded
I can take rest then
It's only for this season
When the morning comes
Time rolls in waves, like
The erosion of the dunes
Makes way for new, love
There is a sweet bird
Sitting on my patio
Taking in the springtime sun
Your smile - bright and real
Your laugh - a happy, full sound
Your hug - gives purpose
Sleep soundly baby
Take your afternoon rest time
Snuggled safe and sound
Our days are filled up
Laughing, playing, creating
Sunscreen and chlorine
Seeking connection
The quiet doesn't soothe me
How come I'm lonely
Snuggled close to you
Your smiling face glaces up
Brightening up my world
That yearning feeling,
Of time, sound, place... memory,
Gently fills my heart
I can feel it, like
Warm beats of a lo-fi track,
Or cicada chirps
Toys and books scattered,
A basket of laundry, by
The couch where I sit
Summers ending, with
A cool breeze and the smell of
Autumn in the air
